Bug #: 43206
Summary: FILEOPEN: RTF import regression -- MacRoman characters
OK in LO 3.3 but not in LO 3.4 PPC
Classification: Unclassified
Product: LibreOffice
Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Status Whiteboard: BSA
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Created attachment 53816
--> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=53816
Attached is an archive containing two test RTF files, with \mac and \ansi
ordering respectively, illustrating the problem. Also included are the files
saves as .odt from LibreOffice 3.4.4 for PPC Mac, in case they help show the
problem.
Problem description:
LibreOffice has correctly imported MacRoman 8-bit characters (curly quotes,
emdash, etc.) in RTF, but no longer does in version 3.4.4 (or 3.4.3) for PPC
Mac; they show up as missing Chinese characters. It does, however, work
correctly in version 3.4.4 under Windows XP. I'll go out on a limb here and
suspect an endian problem.
Attached is an archive containing two test RTF files, with \mac and \ansi
ordering respectively, illustrating the problem. Also included are the files
saves as .odt from LibreOffice 3.4.4 for PPC Mac, in case they help show the
problem.
To observe the correct import of the two RTF files, open them in TextEdit on
Mac OS X, Wordpad on Windows, or Microsoft Word on either platform. Even
LibreOffice 3.3.2 is not entirely correct on either PPC Mac or Windows.
