I re-checked the bug with my Macbook Pro 2012 (good old retina workhorse!), where my mouse takes part of the responsibility, since working with the track pad produces less artefacts. The change to Skia helps a lot. On iMac and MBP. The only drawback is - the preview of my older documents is gone, or better, changed to a yellow square with a few remnants of the original preview here and there.
