Reproduced in OOo 3.3 as well as:
Version: 24.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 8b393bba91111bd4f8988457f3a78b0306462bf2
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
Clearly a bug, as typos have the wiggly red underline in comments too, and
right-clicking one offers "Spellcheck", which opens the dialog but does not
include the comment's spelling error.
Surprised I could not find an existing report for Writer, given that the issue
is inherited (there is one for Calc in bug 63567).
