No, for two reasons.

First, with the "Centered Text" layout, it seems I don't actually get the text
formatting as in the master's main element content. Not sure if this is a bug
or intended behavior, but that's how it is,.

Second, I may not want to let the user have the false idea that it is a valid
design choice to use elements which I do not "support" in terms of my design
choices of the master.

Third, I want to be able to edit the master slide without the gratuitous item
getting in my way.

Perhaps they could be grayed out? Or adjusted to account for this fact?
