Maybe keep an eye on memory use while editing the file?
Some related reports, showing the issue has been popping up on and off over the
years:

- bug 157994 seems to point to a RAM issue
In any case, pCoud link does not work anymore, and pastebin link neither.
I think we should consolidate into bug 157994.
