            Bug ID: 161266
Summary: Long pause between each cell entry of up to 5 seconds
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: angus.cockb...@provauk.com

New spreadsheets work fine but after I have attached several worksheets and
added data suddenly the system starts pausing between cell entry with the
program working away at something for up to 5 seconds. I have tried switching
off recalc and all the other commonly discussed issues on the help site, but
none get it back up to speed. I use Calc because Excel is still very poor at
formatting larger text entries an Calc is brilliant at this. However the long
pauses between entry are leading to mistakes and make the system near unusable.
What does Calc do as you press enter - whatever it is it takes ages unless you
are using a simple single sheet spreadsheet. I use Calc to prepare Bills of
Quantities which have a large text element with simple calculations, page
totals and summaries. I regularly contribute to your funding and was hoping to
make this my main spreadsheet but I am wondering if I have done the right thing
