Transparent switching to Calc is this case natural. HTML, ODT, DOC, RTF, ... all have the _same_ content: text with more or less advanced formatting. It would be natural to transparently convert each type of file on the input and only use the format selection on the output, "Save for Web". Like MS Word. Writer for Web - totally unnecessary app. Of course this is philosophy... :) I am not new to working with LibreOffice; have prepared about many docs and ~10 large books, including layout. Some are printed without using others desktop publishing soft. For myself, I would solve this problem with some workaround in 2 min, not two days. But now I’m preparing a book about Writer (in Russian) and therefore I’m exploring different possibilities. Oops!
