            Bug ID: 164669
Summary: LibreOffice Draw: problems inserting JP(E)G Pictures
on Debian/Ubuntu based distro (Zorin 17.2)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 24.8.4.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Draw
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Hello!
I'm using LibreOffice, especially Draw makes my day.
Today (January 11th 2025) I gladly received the update version 24.8.4.2
(X86_64), Linux 6.8 (Zorin 17.2). Everything works like a charm except for the
import of JP(E)G Pictures with a size above approx. 1 MB. Each time I'm trying
to insert a new picture the file manager dialog appears, I'm choosing the pic
and the process got stuck. Linux reports to me that the process does not
respond and offers me to force the application (Draw) to be stopped or to
continue waiting. After several "continue waiting"-clicks the picture is
inserted. I had to insert only five pictures, but it took quite a lot time.
Could it be that the importing process of compressed image data - esp. JP(E)G -
is buggy somehow?
By the way: my Linux system in itself is always up to date.
Cheers, Klaus

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a new drawing (ODG) in Draw
2.Start inserting a graphic ( Picture) into the canvas
3.Dialogue pops up
4.Choose a pic
5.Click on "Open" in order to start the insert-process of the choosen pic
6.Wait...wait...wait...click on "Continue..."
7.Repeat 6 up to five or six times
8.Finally the pic has been inserted

Actual Results:
It takes a lot of time to insert a pic.

Expected Results:
Better respond and faster inserting without getting error-reports from linux.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I already removed LibreOffice and reinstalled it again: as Led Zeppelin sang it
before "The song remains the same!".
