It seems to me to be worse than noted so far, since with A1=2 we get [=-A1^2]: 4, [=0-A1^4]: -16, [=-A1^4 +0]: 16, [=-(1+A1-1)^4]: 16, etc. which seems inconsistent as well confusing. I confess to not knowing that XL behaved this way, but do not consider that an adequate response. Imho, this is mathematically wrong, and this behaviour needs at least to be flagged every time to unaware users (ie virtually all of them). The suggestion of replacing the formula with the bracketed version seems the least that should be done.
