You can now apply (i.e. force the restart) for change between Automatic theme System/Light/Dark, and you can assign a color value other than automatic to document or application color. Though I do see an issue with scroll bar fg (their "thumbs") and bg (the bar) not being visible (both are a white from some automatic value) in the Automatic mode's 'Light' mode radio button. Before any appearance theme is applied, and also with the 'Light Application Color' theme.
