Bug ID: 165169
Summary: LibreOffice won't paste a slide in the Slide Pane.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Impress
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
When I'm editing a presentation, if I right-click a slide in the Slide Pane and
select "Copy" and then move further down and select "Paste", instead of pasting
a new slide at the point I indicate, it simply copies the contents of the
chosen slide over the top of the existing content on the same slide.
In the past, it would create an identical slide at the point I indicated, but
it doesn't do that.
Please note that I CAN duplicate a slide and drag it; it's just the copy/paste
functionality doesn't work.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install MX Linux. (Never had a problem with it in an Ubuntu-based system.)
I'm running MX Linux 23.5 AHS based on Debian 12 Bookworm with XFCE.
2. Install LibreOffice from repository.
3. Create a new presentation and put 3-4 slides on it.
4. Copy the first slide and try to paste it into the fourth position.
5. Instead of creating a new slide in the fourth position, it will copy
information back into the first slide.
Actual Results:
Instead of creating a new slide in the fourth position, it will copy
information back into the first slide.
Expected Results:
I expect a new slide to be created, identical to the first slide, in the
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
I ran two versions of LibreOffice:
Version: 7.4.7.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 40(Build:2)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.11; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Debian package version: 4:7.4.7-1+deb12u6
Calc: threaded
This is the default that comes from the MX Linux "Package Installer" app. When
that didn't work, I used LibreOffice 25.2 downloaded from libreoffice.org site.
I purged the data in-between setups and deleted any remnant "libreoffice"
folders, but nothing worked. Assuming then the glitch is in the way either
XFCE or MX is interacting.
