Bug ID: 165576
Summary: Problem with Default fonts and the Expert
configuration
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.3.7.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Version: 7.3.7.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 30(Build:2)
CPU threads: 1; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Ubuntu package version: 1:7.3.7-0ubuntu0.22.04.8
Calc: threaded
I already had the Arial fonts installed and wanted toi set them as default. So
I went to:
Options->LibreOffice Writer->Basic Fonts (Western) and changed all fonts to
Arial. Then, by curiosity, I clicked on "Default" at the bottom right to see
all my changes to be reverted! Haven't I just changed the defaults???
FIRST STEP
Advanced->Open Expert Configuration->org.openoffice.Office,Writer->DefaultFont
There, I changed all the following to Arial
-Default Font Standard
-Default Font Heading
-Default Font Caption
I closed Open Office, Re-opened it and the MAIN default is still Liberation
Serif!
So I went back to the "Expert Configuration" and now everything I changed is
set to “void” and I can’t edit those anymore.
SECOND STEP
I then did a full reset:
- Help->Restart in Safe Mode
- Reset to Factory Settings->Reset entire user profile-> apply changes then
restart
But nothing changed in the Expert Configuration. Everything is still set as
"void". So I shut down my laptop, restarted, checked again and... same thing:
VOID.
THIRD STEP
I edited the user folder to user-old and started Libre Office Writer. Same
thing: VOID.
FOURTH STEP
I completely removed Libre Office: sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice* &
sudo apt-get autoremove
I then checked my laptop and the folder .config/libreoffice was still there
with everything inside (/user/4/etc...). So I renamed it to libreoffice-old
then restarted my laptop. I then re-installed LO from the command line (sudo
apt install libreoffice) and guess what? Same thing: VOID
So... First the command sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice* doesn't purge
LO completely since the folder .config/libreoffice with all of its content
still existed. Second, making the changes in the expert configuration may have
changed something in Ubuntu as well. That or there is more than
.config/libreoffice NOT purged. Or, something else...
Steps to Reproduce:

2.
