I have two identically structured databases to keep track of the two sizes of
items that are essentially re-manufactured. Each box contains 25 identical
items each comprised of 5 major components. Within these 5 major components
there is considerable variation in types of components such that there are
thousands of combinations possible.
The problem affects both databases. All I know for certain is that on day one
the databases worked and the next day they didn't.
The "Box Labels" is a report that contains a sequential box number and a list
of components for each item contained in the box. Within the Forms section of
Base there are two similar forms for the various recipes: one of these is for
new entries only and the other is for editing existing entries only. Prior to
this connectivity issue the new entry form would allow previous entries to be
seen and new records would be added to the end. Now it starts with record 1 of
1 and while the individual components can be selected no new records can be
added. The existing entry form seems to function as intended as do the forms
for the individual components.
I am using the Ubuntu version of Java 21.0.6 with the Run time Environment Box
checked. Tried to update the Java Version but it is the latest.
Since I am using Ubuntu all updates except for several unrelated programs come
from the Ubuntu repository. The problem seems to be the result of an update,
which also killed my Logitech mouse scroll wheel. There was one phased update
that seemed to be related to the issue, which I manually installed with no
effect. If I remember correctly something about shared common tools.
In your reply to me please keep it at the step-by-step basic level. While I
might be considered an advanced user, I am self-taught with no formal
programming training.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open existing database and attempt to use.
2.Sought help in online searches
3.
Actual Results:
1.does not work see summary above for description.
2. nothing worked
Expected Results:
Expected the program to work
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Nothing more to add.
