Description:
A pivot table's source range grows automagically when a row is inserted into
the range. However there is no corresponding functionality to grow the source
range when data is appended under the range or on the right side, so the user
must do this manually (by changing the value in the source range textbox). The
selection button for the source range doesn't work anyway, all it does is show
the current selection - trying to select a range with the mouse is does not
work, it selects only a single cell (that's a bug).
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Starting with an existing pivot table, right-click inside it to raise the
context menu then click "Properties..." to open the Pivot Table Layout window.
2. Expand "Source and Destination"
3. Click on the range selection button on the right side of the source
selection. This changes the window into "Pivot Table Layout: Source"
Actual Results:
The selected shows in the text box is the range outlined on the sheet. Trying
to use the mouse to change the range succeeds only in garbling it. In other
words, using the keyboard to edit the range in the text box is the only
effective way to change the range.
Expected Results:
For basic functionality, the mouse should be able to change the range (fix the
bug). For enhanced functionality, add a button to grow the range to maximal
continguous nonempty cells down and right (this is the ask). To use this
extension, leave blank row and column around your pivot table.
