Bug ID: 168692
Summary: choosing a Template
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.1.1 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Its about managing Templates from the user view.
When starting LibreOffice (not writer, calc or any other LibreOffice
Application), there is a nice overview of last used documents and templates.
But the problem is, the more templates there are the harder it is to choose the
required one.
Let me give you a short insight how I am using templates:
My filenames are strucktured like this:
<Company I want to write a bill from> - <Company thats getting the bill>
The feature I am expecting a lot from would be zooming with CTRL + MouseWheel
to increase template preview size and therefore seeing the complete filename.
Next feature I like to see Searching in my templates filenames.
With that done can we also have something like an indexing system implementet
like SOLR.
Also having a proper save dialog for saving the templates would make things
less convoluted.
And I have a question about templates:
Is there some inheritance for using it with Sender Address and bank
information (there is probably way more usecases but thats what came into my
mind within 5 seconds 🙂 )
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice not calc, writer or else, just libreOffice
2. switch to "Templates"
3. try to zoom with CTRL + Mousewheel
Actual Results:
nothing happens
Expected Results:
Zoom-in so previews of existing templates become bigger.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Zoom-in on the templates depending on mousewheel direction. As known from File
Managers.
