            Bug ID: 168830
           Summary: Date parsing is inconsistent for "May." abbreviation,
                    works for others
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
As Eike clarified in bug 164227, an abbreviated month name followed by a dot
(e.g., "Jan.") should be treated as a single unit, as long as the dot isn't the
date pattern's separator.

There seems to be an inconsistency in how this is applied. For relevant
patterns like Month.Day, inputs using "May." are not recognized as dates, while
nearly all other month abbreviations are.

For example, in a fresh sheet:
- "Jan.1" becomes a date.
- "Feb.1" becomes a date.
- "May.1" remains plain text.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In a new Calc sheet, type "Jan.1" in cell A1.
2. Type "May.1" in cell A2.

Actual Results:
1. "Jan.1" -> Date
2. "May.1" -> Text

Expected Results:
Both inputs should be consistently recognized as dates.

Reproducible: Always
