Doing that works fine for me with or without uno, so either the python3-productive branch is more up to date, or that's not quite how Tim has been running it. Maybe somehow some of the plugins didn't get run through 2to3, since that does generate errors such as he's seen. For those reading later, I also recommend removing openlp/core/resources.py before running 2to3 on the tree - it took a huge amount of time (cpu-bound) to process that file for me (at least in a VM), and generate_resources.sh re-generates a Py3 compatible file anyway.
