I am very happy to find these reports -- initiatives :) -- regarding the
relation of LO (Writer) and Markdown.

I think, however, that importing code from a markdown document is a special
case. It should be approached universally, on the level of importing markdown
(not code blocks in markdown only). 

As to that, 
I'd say, I would expect LO to import markdown only. In HTML terms, styles
without their attributes.

This would also mean that the LO Document's own styles (from a template or
modified) would be respected.

Respecting the document's styles is a key point, even though we are happy when
something (a HTML or PDF page) pasted into a LO Document looks like the
original... This is a conflict, apparently.

BUT either way, from a markdown document no style attributes should arrive, if
I may :)
