As to that, I'd say, I would expect LO to import markdown only. In HTML terms, styles without their attributes. This would also mean that the LO Document's own styles (from a template or modified) would be respected. Respecting the document's styles is a key point, even though we are happy when something (a HTML or PDF page) pasted into a LO Document looks like the original... This is a conflict, apparently.
