I agree this is mostly a UX friction issue rather than a major feature gap.
When a media player is docked, users expect a very low-effort dismissal action
— ideally a clearly visible close (×) button with a generous hit area.

A couple of practical improvements that usually help:

Increase the clickable area around the close icon (not just the icon itself).

Support ESC key to close when focused.

Allow swipe-to-dismiss on touch devices.

Ensure the close action is visually consistent across breakpoints (desktop,
tablet, mobile).

In many cases, users aren’t frustrated by the player itself — they’re
frustrated by the extra cognitive step required to remove it from view.

>From a systems perspective, small UX frictions like this compound over time. On
production sites I manage — such as
https://busimulatorindomodapk.id/older-versions/
 and
https://getbusimultimateapk.com/
 — we’ve found that reducing micro-frictions (dismissals, overlays, sticky
elements) noticeably improves session depth and lowers bounce rates. Clean exit
mechanics are just as important as engagement features.

If the docked player is persistent by design, giving users a predictable,
effortless way to close it tends to improve overall satisfaction without
sacrificing functionality.
