Bug ID: 170973
Summary: Calc spins and requires forced quit after any length
of time without saving
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.0.3 release
Hardware: IA64 (Itanium)
OS: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I manage my personal accounts with a spreadsheet. If I don’t regularly save
manually i.e. after every few operations, when I do save, or when an automatic
save occurs, Calc freezes, and I have to force quit. It seems particularly
prevalent after copy-paste-delete of rows, but sometimes happens after a period
of almost complete inactivity. I then have to Force Quit and restart, and
reapply the changes. When I first tried Calc, I used your standard ODS format,
this happened all the time, and eventually I couldn’t even open the ODS doc, so
I saved a backup as XLSX, and have used that format ever since.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the existing spreadsheet.
2. Add rows, Move some rows around (copy-paste-delete, cut-paste-clear-delete)
3. Repeat, if you get the chance
4a. Await automatic save, which will most often freeze.
4b. Save manually after several changes, which will also most often freeze.
Actual Results:
Calc freezes, Force Quit, repeat.
Expected Results:
I can continue editing without automatic or manual save freezing.
Reproducible: Always
