Description:
When editing slide notes in View → Notes, the Text Formatting toolbar
automatically appears.
Its appearance changes the available vertical workspace, causing the Notes page
(portrait A4 layout with slide preview and notes) to automatically rescale
(zoom out) to fit the reduced window height.
When editing ends (clicking outside the Notes area), the Text Formatting
toolbar disappears, the workspace height increases again, and the page
automatically zooms back in.
This creates a repeated zoom in / zoom out effect that resembles view
“flickering” and disrupts focused editing.
The user is forced to constantly adjust to a changing zoom factor.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Impress
2. Switch to View → Notes
3. Click inside the Notes text area to edit
4. Observe: Text Formatting toolbar appears
5. Observe: Page zoom changes (page becomes smaller)
6. Click outside the Notes area
7. Observe: Toolbar disappears
8. Observe: Page zoom changes again (page becomes larger)
Actual Results:
The page automatically rescales whenever the Text Formatting toolbar appears or
disappears.
This produces a constant zoom change during normal note editing.
The experience feels unstable and visually disruptive.
Expected Results:
The zoom factor should remain constant.
The view should not automatically rescale when a toolbar appears or disappears.
UI changes should not alter document zoom implicitly.

User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Workaround: Undock the Text Formatting toolbar.
If the toolbar is undocked: It overlays the window instead of resizing the
workspace.
The zoom factor remains constant.
The page does not rescale.
Placing it as a vertical sidebar also avoids zoom changes (only horizontal
shift occurs, not zoom).
However, this is not discoverable and should not be required for stable
editing.
