Bug ID: 171153
Summary: Math formulas not resized correctly in already
existing documents
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.1.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Formula Editor
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
When you open an already existing document created with previous releases (e.g.
an impress presentation) that contains math formulas, and you want to resize
them, e.g. make them smaller, you double click on the formula object and use
the menu command "format > font size". Now in 28.2 this appears to work at
first, but when you lick outside the formula to end the editing it returns to
the previous size! If you double click again, the font size in the menu is the
one you set before, but on exiting the edit the formula stays bigger all the
same.
To finally obtain the formula in the new font size, you have to save the file,
reopen it again, then in the context menu choose "original size" and at last it
changes to the desired size (notice that when re-opening the file, the formulas
still looks big, even if using the menu "format > font size" the size value is
the smaller one you changed it into.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. open the attached impress file
2.locate the forumula inside the red circle, and double click on it
3. now open the Format menu and change the font size from 23 to 12
4. now click outside the formula to finish the edit. It still looks sized 23,
not 12.
5. Double click on it again, and reopen the format > fonts size command: the
font size displayed is 12, but the formula remains at the bigger size on the
slide.
Actual Results:
Resizing formulas created with previous LO releases does not work. Notice that
if you create a doc with a formula insede from scratch with 26.2, resizing
works OK. Thare is some king of missing aligment of math formulas sizing
parameters between the latest release and revious ones.
Expected Results:
Math formulas should be resized correctly when the format > font size command
is used in any document, old or new
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
The issue is present when editing formulas embedded in Writer as well. It is
not linked the guest app
