I don't care about implementation purity either; this bug is about behavior, about consistency and about truthfulness. You're claiming that users should learn that "Clear DF" does not clear all direct formatting, just some of it; and that when you want to switch your paragraph to a style with different direction - for the new style's direction not to be applied. In fact, with our current state of affairs - how do you suggest a user clear the manual direction setting from a paragraph?
