I think I may have found it.
To further provide the ability to reproduce this you need two documents.  One
is a recently docx created using MS Word (probably 365 but not sure what the
author has been using).  And any other document.
The MS Word doc needs to have regular paragraphs and a table.  In my testing I
come across two column tables with pages and pages of rows.  These are legal
documents.  In the right column you add numbered lists.
Open the docx first.  Then open the document you wish to copy into.  Copy text
from regular paragraphs and paste into the 2nd document.  I usually use the
keyboard shortcut to jump between open documents so I'd press "`+alt" to go to
the first document.  THen copy text from the right table column numbered list. 
Sometimes it crashes at this point.  If it doesn't, then switch to 2nd doc and
paste.  Switch back to the first docx and copy from another portion of the
right column numbered list.  Now it will crash.
