Priority: medium Bug ID: 67433 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FORMATTING: Image / calc chart endless self-replication Severity: major Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: greg.gille...@gmail.com Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.0.2.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 83116 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=83116&action=edit multiplying pasted image (chart) Sorry if this doesn't warrant a major label although there was a real risk of either the document or my computer crashing and I had to shut the programme down and start from my last saved file. If I used the recovery the programme would start with the same problem. Generally writer has been quite poor at handling images and pasted charts (from calc). I have been forced to anchor to a page in order to prevent them jumping from page to page seemingly at random (sometimes three pages sometimes more), although that means that once I write past that page I have to re-paste the image in the proper place in the document. This observation is what led to the bug. I tried to use paragraph anchoring hoping the image (a chart from calc, selected from just the cells with data in them) would continue moving down the document as I wrote above it. Instead, the image jumped half-way up the document (about 40 pages) I hit undo, to bring it back, cut the image, pasted it two pages down, and set paragraph anchoring again and the image began self-replicating. I took a screen shot before shutting down the programme in case it crashed the programme or my computer (it was already getting very slow). It had replicated over 400 times to 400 pages within half a minute and was not stopping. You can see this from the page count in the bottom of the picture. It was not a huge deal in terms of losing my document since I had just saved, although I cannot get the image to stay put and continue moving down as I write. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
