Bug ID: 171399
Summary: Find and replace function STILL crashes all open
instances
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.1.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Some time ago I submitted a problem with the search function causing all open
instances of Libreoffice to crash. I was told to install a newer version, which
I did and for some time it worked well. It started with the same problem a few
weeks ago and I had to endure restarting everything. I recently updated to the
following, and the problem still exists:
Version: 26.2.1.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: 620(Build:2)
CPU threads: 36; OS: Windows 10 X86_64 (build 19045); UI render: Skia/Raster;
VCL: win
Locale: en-ZA (en_ZA); UI: en-ZA
Calc: threaded
This morning the problem happened (yet again) when trying do change certain
parameters in Writer. Please advise.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. It happens infrequently and is impossible to reproduce
2. Mostly while 3 or 4 windows are active (Writer, Calc, Impress), but can't
predict when it will happen.
3. I now ensure everything is saved before using the find/replace function.
Actual Results:
I select a word in Writer which is used many times in the document that needs
to be in italics. From the Find/Replace function, I format the words to be
replaced for the correct font, size and style. Most of the time it works fine,
but under certain unknown conditions, the entire app crashes, closing all open
windows.
Expected Results:
I expect to be able to use the find replace without having to save everything
beforehand, and that it should work to find the words/characters and replace
accordingly.
Reproducible: Sometimes
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
All files are stored locally as well as a Nextcloud server, if that is of any
help.
