            Bug ID: 171498
Summary: Wayland causes LibreOffice to freeze.
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.5.2 release
          Hardware: x86 (IA32)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Base
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Hello!

I have a problem with Wayland that makes LibreOffice unusable.

When I insert something (as described below), it freezes and

Here’s a description of the problem:

I searched for “happiness” on Google and then expanded the results using “Show
more.”

Now I select the section with the aspects using the mouse, copy it with CTRL +
C, and paste it with CTRL + V. That’s when the problem starts.

The problem should actually occur with other copy-and-paste operations as well.

This happens with the Fresh version of LibreOffice just as much as with the
Stable version.

I tried editing the same document in XFCE without Wayland—with success.

XFCE with Wayland is very glitchy, but it can be edited with some effort and
patience.

Therefore, I assume the issue lies with KDE and Wayland.

I can edit the document with the current version of Apache OpenOffice—but not
with LibreOffice—so I assume this problem isn’t just due to KDE/Wayland but
also to LibreOffice.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards, R. Lehmeier

Steps to Reproduce:
Here’s a description of the problem:

I searched for “happiness” on Google and then expanded the results using “Show
more.”

Now I select the section with the aspects using the mouse, copy it with CTRL +
C, and paste it with CTRL + V. That’s when the problem starts.

The problem should actually occur with other copy-and-paste operations as well.

This happens with the Fresh version of LibreOffice just as much as with the
Stable version.

Actual Results:
LibreOffice freezes

Expected Results:
You should be able to edit the document without any problems.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I didn't reset the user profile because it works under XFCE without Wayland.
