Only the ones that can't be deleted remain. Despite what MS and Apple think, not everyone is in love with crazy fonts. I'm a writer and only use 3 fonts (Times, Arial, and Courier). I don't want my list cluttered. Forcing fonts on a user like me means an extra step every time I update to remove the useless fonts. Making the fonts a separate install saves size of the download and install time. For most users, once the fonts are installed the first time, the extra download is unnecessary anyway and for people like me, it saves not only the download time but the final step of eliminating what we didn't want installed in the first place.
