--- Comment #7 from Vladislav Tarakanov <[email protected]> ---
Sorry for repeating the text in the comment, the correct version is:

I agree that the formula can be converted to a new format using MS Word, but I
don't think we should mark this as RESOLVED / NOTABUG, etc. for the following
reasons:

1 - MS Office correctly opens this formula, although it prompts you to convert
it to a new format to support editing.

2 - The document is listed as created in version 16 of MS Office. This isn't a
very old version of the editor, not as old as, for example, MS Office 2007,
with which compatibility can be neglected.

3 - Converting formulas can be easily done using MS Office, but only if the
user has an OS compatible with MS Office (or the ability to configure Wine /
Proton, etc. on Linux, which may be problematic for the average user) and a
licensed version of the new MS Office capable of performing such a conversion.
This could become a problem during document management, and the user might
simply want to abandon LibreOffice in favor of MS Office, which handles
formulas correctly after forwarding the document to other users.

P.S.:
The formula compatibility issue was previously raised in this report:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158023. In the current
issue, as I see it, a different formula handler is used at the code level. I
believe the formula embedding handler should also be improved to make working
between MSO and LO more convenient.
