Bug ID: 172252
Summary: Calc formula bar does not respect RTL text direction
of the underlying cell
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.3.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
The formula bar does not respect the text direction of the underlying cell, and
is always set to LTR mode. This makes editing RTL text, and especially mixed
LTR and RTL text, very difficult.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new Calc sheet. Set the sheet to RTL. Set cell A1 to RTL.
2. Type שלום Shalom. Notice that the text appears in the cell, correctly, as
שלום Shalom.
3. Look at the text in the function bar. It still appears as שלום Shalom.
Actual Results:
The text in the function bar is always LTR, even though the cell is RTL.
Expected Results:
The function bar should respect the direction of the underlying cell and switch
to RTL.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
