Having the possibility to "pause" or "stop" some lengthy operation in Calc is completely different. Please keep in mind, quoting from comment 0: "I don't know how it happens". One thing is to make the tool easier for newbies (and it would be "more than nice" to keep experienced users in mind). Another one is to invest resources and to introduce false limitations without a good reason. At some point, spreadsheet users need to learn how things work, how to improve, how to minimize problems...
