Here is my situation.

Let's say I have a conditional formatting affecting A1:A5. If I introduce a
value in A6, the conditional formatting gets automatically extended to A1:A6.
This has always worked for me.

Then I realize that I don't want to introduce a value in A6 and I use 'undo'.
The conditional formatting should revert to A1:A5 or, in the worst case
scenario, to stay in A1:A6.

Instead the conditional formatting is split up into two.

And the worst part is that, when you click on 'undo', you're not aware that
these changes are happening without you noticing them.
