--- Comment #7 from ady <[email protected]> --- The merge feature woks as documented and as expected, from the "home" cell of the merge towards its end. The original formatting (borders in this case) are usually kept "underneath" on the individual cells, so if the merged area is unmerged, they (the individual cells) remain as they were before the first merge action, unless the whole merged area gets formatted in some different way (and if there is no overlap, the prior formatting still remains untouched).
