For two possible reasons:

1. Visual consistency when you have styles in the gallery with both RTL and LTR
names, or even names that have both RTL and RTL text.
2. Perhaps easier to implement - don't need to "peek" into the rendering of the
style name to know whether it was done RTL or LTR.

I _tend_ to think it's still better to always clip the end.
