Bug ID: 172480
Summary: Linux Mint Dark Theme forces LibreOffice to export and
print text as faint grey instead of solid black.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.3.7.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: UI
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Expected Behavior:
When using a system-wide Dark Theme in Linux Mint (Cinnamon), exporting a
document to PDF or sending a document to a physical printer should preserve
high-contrast solid black text on a white page background.
Actual Behavior:
With Linux Mint's dark mode active, LibreOffice passes the visual "eye
protection" text color (light grey) directly into the PDF export engine and the
CUPS print stream. The text prints and exports as faint grey instead of black.
Temporary Workaround Found:
Manually overriding "Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Application Colors >
Document background" to "White" fixes the contrast issue, forcing the text back
to solid black for both screen display and print jobs.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.When using a system-wide Dark Theme in Linux Mint (Cinnamon), exporting a
document to PDF or sending a document to a physical printer should preserve
high-contrast solid black text on a white page background.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
With Linux Mint's dark mode active, LibreOffice passes the visual "eye
protection" text color (light grey) directly into the PDF export engine and the
CUPS print stream. The text prints and exports as faint grey instead of black.
