--- Comment #14 from Eyal Rozenberg <[email protected]> --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #13) > We discussed the topic in the design meeting. > > Some believe that small tabs are an advantage for less mouse travel other > think white space is good design. As a compromise we could introduce an > expert option to always keep the minimum tab size. As I said in our meeting, that's effectively not a compromise, since the NBB's audience is mostly first-time users, which expect a default interface in the same vein as ribbons in MSO, OnlyO or COOL. I'm not one of those users - I like my menus - but IMNSHO, the excessive padding of tab headers will be perceived by that audience as a deficiency; and they will not go try fixing it via tweaking (expert) options. I also mentioned that, in MSO, the maximum tab width is much narrower than ours. The dynamic narrowing _starts_ from our narrow-tab state, and only becomes narrower (even to the extent of some letters of the tab names disappearing!) Anyway, I'll just hope a more pronounced majority forms in favor of the narrowing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
