--- Comment #7 from [email protected] --- (I typed this before newer responses) @BogdanB Okay, thank you for sharing all of your negative opinions throughout all of my posts on this topic, but again keep in mind all of them are being presented as a setting where users can make there own choices how this sidebar functions. If you read my posts these ideas are to give the Navigator more of a vertical sheet tab sidebar kind of functionality, but done so through settings. The default behavior would remain as is so it would not cause any issues with your use cases/opinions. To me, if someone uses the Navigator sidebar just for specific purposes and does not use all the other features/GUI items, it is strange to have the user have to manually make these adjustments with each file/instance that they open of Calc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Update: Hey okay, surprised that not only a meeting was held about this, but that I was also agreed with, that feels good. Thank you to everyone in that meeting that actually agreed with something that I suggested :) Yeah I agree I do not think that I would make this save per document (I did not suggest this). The current behavior would remain the default, but just adding some settings would be great to eliminate the repetitive nature of having to manually update sidebar each time like I just mentioned above. Thanks again ------------------------------------------------------------------------ @Heiko Tietze Also thank you for mentioning the following... "You can use the See Also field to link ideas." Dammit! I did not know about this :) Every time I had made a reply post containing links, I always thought... "this is so inefficient" :) Also thank you for not completely ruling out my Navigator settings dialog idea by giving me a little hope by including the "...yet" because I need it Heiko, I need it! :) If my suggestion for a vertical sheet tab bar is not agreed with/added, this dialog is the only chance I have for my backup plan of being able to turn the Navigator (with the use of optional settings) into something that contains similar vertical sheet tab bar functionality. Also now this settings dialog will probably be needed if the agreed items discussed in the Design Meeting are added in the future. Thanks again for bringing the "Also" field to my attention :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
