Bug ID: 172581
Summary: Can documents specify custom dictionaries?
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.1.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I find I want different custom dictionaries for different documents. I can
change the dictionaries, but this is separate from opening a different
document.
It would be convenient if the document specified its dictionaries.
For example, a student might want one dictionary for his chemistry courses with
technical vocabulary, a different one for his essay on Lord of the Rings, with
many peculiar names, and neither for his essays in other courses.
I'm marking this as a Writer issue, but it also affects all the other
components that can check spelling.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create document 1 with a custom dictionary 1
2. Make up some words, type them into the document, add them to the dictionary
3. Close document 1. Create document 2
4. Uncheck custom dictionary 1, add a new custom dictionary 2
5. Make up different words, type them into the document, add to dictionary
6. Reopen document 1.
Actual Results:
Document 1 uses custom dictionary 2, and marks words as spelling errors.
To get custom dictionary 1, I need to go to Options, uncheck custom dictionary
2, and check custom dictionary 1.
Expected Results:
I would like LibreOffice to remember that document 1 should use custom
dictionary 1, which includes all those words.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
