            Bug ID: 172594
Summary: Writer strips out Markdown horizontal line when
                    editing
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.4.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Trying to write markdown files in Writer. Noticed with the new version they are
rendered instead of in plain text mode. But when I save files, the triple
hyphen (---) used to denote horizontal lines in markdown source is removed and
replaced with a double line break. This causes problems with other software I
use.

I toggle to show markdown source code instead of rendered text would be
appreciated as well.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open markdown file containing --- horizontal lines
2.Save file
3.Open saved file, --- replaced with double line breaks

Actual Results:
--- lines stripped out

Expected Results:
Markdown control characters should not be altered when saving files

Reproducible: Always
