Bug ID: 172595
Summary: Text orientation shortcuts cannot be disabled
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.4.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Ctrl+Shift+D and Ctrl+Shift+A are the intended shortcuts to switch text
orientation between right to left and left to right, however there happens to
be a second set of shortcuts : Ctrl+LShift and Ctrl+Rshift.
These seem to be tied to Windows but LibreOffice Writer is unable to override
them like it should, given that it provides its own shortcuts for these
actions.
Steps to Reproduce:
Press Ctrl+RShift anytime while typing from left to right to start typing from
right to left
Press Ctrl+LShift anytime while typing from right to left to start typing from
left to right
Actual Results:
typing orientation changed
Expected Results:
nothing should have happened
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
Version: 26.2.4.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: 0229ac93fcf0d7cbc6376066c6f35021cef002dc

VCL: win
Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR); UI: fr-FR

PS : the workaround consists of using PowerToys' Keyboard Manager to remap
RShift to LShift, but it must be disabled again for apps that are sensitive to
the difference between the two.
