Bug ID: 172726
Summary: Writer prints all colors as black on HP Deskjet 3520
under Windows 11; exported PDF prints in color
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.2.4.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Printing and PDF export
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Environment
LibreOffice 26.2.4.2 (x64)
Windows 11 x64 (build 26200)
UI render: Skia/Vulkan
VCL: win
Printer:
HP Deskjet 3520 Series
USB connection (USB001)
Official HP Deskjet 3520 driver
Problem
When printing directly from LibreOffice Writer, every color prints as black.
This includes:
- blue headings
- blue separator lines
- green graphics
Print Preview displays the colors correctly.
If the document is exported to PDF and the PDF is printed, the page prints
correctly in color.
Other applications print correctly in color:
- Paint
- Notepad
Things already tested
- LibreOffice Safe Mode
- Reset LibreOffice user profile
- Disabled "Enable advanced printing features"
- Print in Grayscale = Off
- HP driver installed correctly
- USB connection (USB001)
None of these changed the behavior.
Expected result
The document should print in color.
Actual result
Everything prints in black.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to print color Writer document on a HP Deskjet 3520 printer
2. Preview shows color. File exported to PDF prints color.
3. File printed from Writer prints in black and white.
Actual Results:
Color/monochrome option box doesn't even appear in print dialog boxes.
Expected Results:
I expected the file to print in color as the print preview showed.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
