Bug ID: 172729
Summary: Calc-specific keyboard shortcuts are not executed on
macOS 26 Tahoe (Apple Silicon) in LibreOffice 26.2.3.2
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.3.2 release
Hardware: ARM
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Calc-specific keyboard shortcut assignments are stored correctly but are not
executed when triggered. The same shortcut works immediately when assigned at
the global LibreOffice level.
**Environment:**
* LibreOffice version: 26.2.3.2
* Operating system: macOS 26 Tahoe
* Hardware: Apple Silicon M4 Mac
* Installation source: Official LibreOffice package from The Document
Foundation
* UI language: German
* Keyboard layout: German Apple keyboard
**Steps to reproduce:**
1. Open LibreOffice Calc.
2. Go to:
`Tools → Customize → Keyboard`
3. Select scope:
`Calc`
4. Assign a free keyboard shortcut, for example:
`⌃⌘D`
5. Assign it to:
`Insert Current Date`
6. Click **Assign** and close the dialog.
7. Reopen the keyboard customization dialog:
* The shortcut assignment is still present.
8. Open a Calc spreadsheet and press:
`⌃⌘D`
**Expected behavior:**
The command "Insert Current Date" should be executed and the current date
should be inserted into the selected cell.
**Actual behavior:**
Nothing happens. The shortcut is not executed, although the assignment is
displayed correctly in the customization dialog.
**Additional tests performed:**
* Assigning the same shortcut at the **LibreOffice** (global) level works
correctly.
* The shortcut continues to work after:
* completely quitting LibreOffice,
* restarting LibreOffice,
* opening a new Calc document.
* Other Calc-specific shortcuts can behave differently. For example:
* `Insert Row Above` assigned to `⌃⌥⌘K` works correctly.
* The issue appears specific to some Calc-level shortcut assignments and their
evaluation priority.
**Additional observation:**
The default shortcut for inserting the current date is shown as:
* `⌘ + ,`
* `⌘ + ;`
On a German Mac keyboard:
* `⌘ + ,` opens the LibreOffice Preferences dialog (macOS convention).
* `⌘ + ⇧ + ,` inserts the current time.
Therefore, assigning a custom shortcut is required to use "Insert Current Date"
reliably.
**Workaround:**
Assign the shortcut at the global LibreOffice level instead of the
Calc-specific level. This works reliably.
**Possible issue:**
The problem may be related to the handling or priority resolution of
module-specific keyboard shortcuts in Calc on macOS.
