Bug ID: 172783
Summary: EDITING: Unable to remove accidentally pasted text
from chart area
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.4.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Pasting something while in edit mode of a chart makes it impossible to delete
that object later on.
Pressing delete, Ctrl+X, nothing works. Undo works, but if the file is saved
and reopened, then the undo stack is lost, so that is not the best option.
That text is not the frame text, which is editable using the F2 key.
I have attached a sample document to illustrate the issue. There is a "Sample
text" text and a "Level (%)" image inside the chart area, which are impossible
to remove.
I have tried several methods of deleting, such as using the navigator, but
nothing seems to work. Seems like Calc is entirely ignoring that object.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a chart.
2. Copy a text or image from anywhere in the system.
3. Double-click on the chart to enter edit mode.
4. Press Ctrl+V or right-click -> paste. The object gets inserted inside the
chart area.
5. Select that object and try deleting or cutting; it is impossible to remove.
Actual Results:
The pasted object is impossible to remove.
Expected Results:
The object should be removable.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
