I want to install the Extension AltSearch_1.4.2.oxt. In doing so, it tells me
that the file does not exist. But it exists and it is accessible.
I have another version Version installed: 25.8.4.2 (X86_64)

AltSearch 1.4.2 works in it. So the bug must have been introduced quite
recently.
N.B. the quite old and no longer actively further developed extension AltSearch
is a work around of the designed bug that LO Writer's own search and replace
mechanism can't search for a paragraph mark. I use this extension very often in
order to exchange paragraph marks by forced linefeeds. I also use it to find
all places where a defined paragraph or character style from a stylesheet
(German: Formatvorlage) is used. There is a big pile of duplicated bug reports
on it, e.g. #38261, #108256, 112575, 138006, #138931
Steps to Reproduce:
1. This bug is hard to reproduce. If such a style shows up: delete it.
2. Then store the file.
3. Then load the stored file again
Actual Results:
The strange style re-appears! It re-appears albeit nothing can be found where
this style is used. (An investigation used to fix its permanent re-ocurrence
showed me, that a reference from a List Numbering Style to the strange
prototype was causing the permanence.) But through a bug in LO Writer, somehow
the bug has been introduced and the length of the style name grows over time!
