            Bug ID: 172881
Summary: Writer ignores desired word spacing in last line of
                    justified paragraph
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.4.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Recent Writer versions allow fine-tuning the word spacing of justified
paragraphs in the paragraph properties’ "Alignment" tab.

The line breaking algorithm always uses 100 % word spacing in the last,
incomplete line of a justified paragraph with a “Last line” setting of “start”
or “center”. It should instead apply the word spacing set by the user, in order
to visually match the word spacing in the last line to the (average) word
spacing in the preceding lines of a justified paragraph.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load attached example document in Writer with a fresh profile.
2. Look at the last line of the 1st paragraph, marked yellow.

Actual Results:
Inter-word spaces in the last line are much smaller than inter-word spaces in
the rest of the paragraph.

Expected Results:
Inter-word spaces in the last line are of identical size to the inter-word
spaces in the rest of the paragraph.

In the simplest case, the "desired" value set in paragraph properties could be
used. A more sophisticated implementation could calculate a (weighted?) average
of the actual inter-word space sizes of the preceding lines in the paragraph.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes
