Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
In addition to the above, here is further information:
1. Worse in workbooks with multiple sheets
2. Worse if saved as XLSX - but still happens consistently on ODS
3. Larger documents are worse - especially if they contain complex formulas and

Actual Results:
Results given in summary
Expected Results:
Unlimited ability to open and modify any spreadsheet – including large
workbooks and/or those with filters, complex and multiple formulas, etc.
without any freezing or beach balling.
Reproducible: Sometimes
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
- macOS Tahoe 26.5.2.
- LibreOffice Build 0229ac93fcf0d7cbc6376066c6f35021cef002dc%5E%21/
- Problem occurred in previous operating systems as well
- Problem also occurred with prior versions of Libreoffice too
- have tried (not in this order, and some multiple times):
1) forcing skia rendering,
2) toggling Java on / off,
3) factory reset from safe mode,
4) deleting fully and doing a fresh install,
5) Toggling anti-aliasing off and on,
6) Deleted the LibreOffice folder in `~/Library/Application Support`,
7) opening files in numbers and/or only office (they open successfully there)
8) renamed to .ods if was created in LibreOffice as .xlsx (usually had to open
in something like OnlyOffice and then re-save with correct extension),
9) modifying Save features: AutoRecovery (various; currently set to 10
minutes),
10) resetting user profile,
11) renaming current user folder to an older version and creating new user
folder
- other current settings:
1) Always creating backup copy,
2) Default File format and ODF settings:
1.4 extended (recommended),
Document type "Text documents (Writer),
Always save as "ODF text document (*.odt)"
- current status remains unchanged with the program mostly unusable at this
time due to near constant and immediate mac "beach balling," program crashing
completely, and/or bottom left status on main homepage stating "load document"
and never progressing.
