Summary: spell-check language for spreadsheet document applied
but not saved with the document (Excel format)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.3.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: macOS (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc

Description:
FILESAVE - FORMATTING "Excel 97-2003" - LANGUAGE
LibreOffice 26.2.32 / User interface=English / Locale Setting=French
(Switzerland) / Default language for documents=French (Switzerland).
English language is choosen for one spreadsheet document. Applied, it
functions. But after saving (Excel format), closing, reopening the document,
this preference is lost.
This is not recent, I have had difficulties with language prefs disappearing
for years. The workarround is using "ODF-Spreadsheet" format.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Preferences for LibreOffice : User-interface=English (USA) ; Locale setting=
French (Switzerland) ; User-define dictionaries includes fr-CH and en-GB (and
others) ; Available Language Modules all 5 ON ; "Check spelling as you type" ;
"Ignore system input language" ON
2. Default language for documents=French (Switzerland)
2. Create a spreadsheet doc with some words in English e.g. "Words are written
accordingly to what is found in the book." (red underlined)
3. Choose English language for the current document : Tools>Language>All
text>More…>Language=English (UK); apply ; it functions (no more underlining)
4. Save the document ; USING "Excel 97-2003" FORMAT
5. Re-open the document ; the words in English are now red underlined

Actual Results:
After re-opening, the preference goes back to:
Tools>Language>All text>More…>Language=French (Switzerland)
BUt if the the format is "ODF-Spreadsheet", it is OK.

Expected Results:

Tools>Language>All text>More…>Language=English (UK)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes
