Bug ID: 173442
Summary: style editor selection changed underneath a
right-click action
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.5.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
It seems to be impossible to select and edit a style using the Styles pane in
the Sidebar due to recent changes in LO. The only style that it seems to be
possible to edit is the style of the currently selected/focussed paragraph
(i.e. where the cursor currently is).
Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a new empty document, with three 'Default Paragraph Style' paragraphs
'para1', 'para2', 'para3'
2. open the 'Styles' sidebar
2. apply 'Heading 1' style to the first para1
3. move the cursor down to the second para2
4. now right-click 'Heading 1' in the style list, and attempt to edit the
style.
Actual Results:
Upon right-clicking 'Heading 1', the Styles list changes the currently selected
style to 'Default Paragraph Style'. The resulting dialog is for 'Default
Paragraph Style'.
Expected Results:
If I right-click on 'Heading 1', it means I want to edit the style 'Heading 1'.
Oh my goodness!
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
It would appear that some unintended event is firing at the time of the
right-click context menu, causing the selected style to be changed
mid-operation. This is a high priority bug that significantly degrades core LO
functionality IMHO.
