I have tested this repeatedly, including just now. My original user profile was overwritten (even now), which is evident from the fact that, after restarting LO, several settings were missing (Basic macros, keyboard layout, keyboard shortcuts, toolbar settings, recently opened files, etc.). I haven’t investigated this in depth, but from a cursory glance I could see that the default user profile was replaced/deleted the moment I carried out step 3. My report is aimed at improving security for users; I usually only use Safe Mode when testing something relating to a bug I wish to report. If you cannot reproduce this behaviour, it does not alter the fact that this is exactly what happens to me, and as a result I have lost my entire user profile; therefore, the security of using Safe Mode should be improved by at least some of the proposed measures, or possibly others. I repeat, I have tested this behaviour several times now, and on each occasion my user profile has been overwritten. I’ll go through the steps again: 1. Open LO without any documents open, 2. Help – Restart in Safe Mode 3. Click on ‘Continue in Safe Mode’ (see image). 4. Open any .odt file from Windows Explorer (this is crucial). 5. The Welcome window opens and the user profile (under C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4) is deleted, which becomes apparent upon restarting (I close LO in Safe Mode using the X in the top right-hand corner and launch LO again). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
