Bug ID: 173569
Summary: Duplicate function fails silently on perfectly
horizontal/vertical lines in Draw
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.5.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Draw
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
When using Edit → Duplicate (Ctrl+Shift+D) on a line that is perfectly
horizontal or perfectly vertical (i.e. its bounding box has zero height or zero
width), no copies are created at all — not even overlapping ones. The same
operation works correctly on:
Rectangles and other shapes with non-zero width and height
Lines drawn at any angle other than exactly 0°/90°/180°/270°
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Draw a perfectly horizontal line (hold Shift while drawing, or set rotation
to exactly 0° via F4).
2.Select the line.
3.Edit → Duplicate (Ctrl+Shift+D).
4.Set Number of copies: 4, Axis X: 1.00 cm, Axis Y: 0.00 cm, Angle: 0.00°.
5.Click OK.
Actual Results:
No new copies appear at all. Confirmed by drag-testing the original line: only
one object exists.
Expected Results:
4 additional copies of the line, offset by 1 cm horizontally.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
Tested with a completely fresh user profile (renamed ~/.config/libreoffice) —
bug persists, ruling out a corrupted configuration. The bug reproduces
identically for a perfectly vertical line.
